Pregnancy Update!

This week was an exciting week for us because I hit my 30 week mark! Something about being in the 30's just makes it seem so much closer and gets up that much more excited. It also seems like Cade had a major growth spurt this week because he is moving around more than ever. I don't just feel a single foot poking me, now I feel multiple limbs doing flips and jumping jacks in there. He is going to be quite the little active one I think. I’ve been feeling pretty good lately, just exhausted as I try to prepare for the holidays and the baby at the same time. After a long day at work and then running around town, I often come home to swollen feet and kankles, not cute! Other than that, everything is going great. We’re still working on getting the nursery situated and are as excited as ever!

To Utah We Go!

Last week we traveled to Bountiful, Utah for my Great Grandma Gwen's funeral. She was 97 years old and lived a long and blessed life. She had such a sweet and sassy spirit, we all just loved her. It was great to celebrate her life and gather with family for a few days! Along with the trip cames lots and lots of snow! It was FREEZING cold the entire visit, but quite a winter adventure.

Definitely scarf weather!

Since we were in Utah in December we decided we had to visit the Salt Lake Temple to see The Christmas lights. Just like most of the trip, it was snowing and very cold, but the lights and Christmas spirit made it absolutely magical!

Did I mention it was freezing!?

Thank goodness for Thanksgiving!

Last week we drove up to California to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with the Landes family. I must say, I was quite apprehensive about being 27 weeks pregnant and driving 10 hours, but Ryan took great care of me and everything turned out just fine. We spent 5 days hanging out with family, eating turkey and even having a little baby shower.

Ryan's younger sister Allie turned 17 the day after Thanksgiving. To celebrate, all the kids went bowling at the Fresno State student union. Fun fun!

On Saturday Ryan's mom and dad hosted a little baby shower. Ryan's family and friends got together to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Cade with us! We all munched on some goodies, the girls played games, the boys watched football and then Ryan and I opened gifts. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Landes for the baby bash!

Update!

I can't believe I am 26 weeks! Sometimes I feel like time has flown by, other times I can hardly wait another day for Cade to come! Thank goodness for three more months though because we still have alot of work to do! I am working on clearing the girly guest room out so we can turn it into an all boy nursery. I promise to post pictures on the progress... when progress is made! :) Other than that, everything is going great. I am feeling pretty good these days. Working full time and going to school takes about every ounce of energy that I have, but I can handle being tired, as long as I'm not throwing up. Ofcourse Cade is growing and kicking up a storm. Ryan loves to feel him move around and has started to talk to him. He is definitely ready to be a dad! We are all very excited and are counting down the days... 99 to go!

Ps: Did I mention that besides Cade, I'm growing by the day too!? Check it out...

Halloween Fun!

Jacob and Tanya invited us over for Halloween party this weekend! It was like a high school reunion and so much fun. They made homemade chilli, had the fight on and a costume contest. It was a very fun night and the perfect way to get in the Halloween spirit!

A day at the park!

Last week Cassie organized a BBQ at the park with all the girls and their manly men! We went to Alta Mesa Park, which is the neighborhood park where all of us girls grew up, so it was back to our old stomping grounds. Luke BBQ'd hotdogs and we had a nice dinner with all the works. After that it was volleyball and hanging out. Another fun night with fabulous friends!

Half way there!

So this week was week 20 for me, which means... I'm half way there!! Sometimes it seems like time is flying, other times it feel like its just creeping by, either way, I'm just so excited to hit this exciting mile marker! And the best news, so far everything is going great with the pregnancy. Finally I'm starting to understand why some women say they enjoy being pregnant. I'm feeling Cade move now which is very fun. No major kicks yet, but lots of bouncing around in there. And I must say, I always light up when I feel him. Its just so fun to know our little guy is in there and saying hello. My growing belly is a constant reminder he's on his way as well. Although I know I may regret it in a month or two, I've been excited to look pregnant for a while now. Even now, when people find out I'm pregnant they say they had no idea. Perhaps they're just being kind, but I'm excited for everyone to know I'm expecting. And I certainly think there's a baby bump there. In fact, on Thursday three people asked if they could feel my belly, which was a sign to me that I have "popped!" All in all, Mama, Papa and baby are all doing wonderful!
Baby belly at week 20!

Mama and Papa still excited as can be!

So we had a fun delivery this afternoon... our first baby package! Our dear friends from California, Suzanne and Troy, sent Cade his first gift. I was so excited, I tore that package open. Inside we found some very cute outfits, a toy box and Cade's first toy! Thanks Suzanne and Troy, we love the everything and sure Cade will too!!

It's a boy!!

It's official..... WE'RE HAVING A BOY! Last week we had our big appointment and found out that our bouncing baby is ALL boy! :) The ultrasound was amazing! Ryan and I loved seeing our baby so active and growing so perfectly. We both wanted a boy first and are absolutely thrilled with this exciting news. So get ready world, Cade Ryder Landes is on his way!!

Cade's perfect profile!

Proof he's all boy!
(Okay Grandmas, I know you want to see. Click on picture to enlarge for better detail)

After our appointment Ryan and I went to a nice lunch. Our waitress had to keep checking back to take our order because we were gushing about our big news while calling all of family and friends with the update. After lunch we took our first official shopping trip! We wanted to start a tradition where after we find out what we're having, we go and buy the outfit to take the baby home from the hospital in. We decided on the "I'm kinda a big deal" onsie! Whoever said shopping for boys isn't fun... is wrong! Shopping for boys is so fun! Anything that small is cute! After shopping we returned home to find Aunt Kelsey with more clothes. (That girl is on the ball :) I can't wait to get Cade into these outfits. He is going to be a heart breaker!

So I haven't been very good about updating everyone on myself... the mama to be! Ryan and I have family, and more importantly, future grandmas, who are out of state and are always asking for updates. So I've started to take pictures of my growing belly. I really wish I would have started BEFORE I started growing to not only bask in the memory, but have something to compare to. Either way, I'll be starting here on out with updates every few weeks. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Last weekend we celebrated one of my favorite times of the year... my birthday! I turned 24 on September 1st. Friday night we had our friends over for a pizza party and game night. As always, I had a lot of fun hanging out with all my favorite people. Then Monday came around and Ryan had a nice little day planned for me. First things first, Ryan woke up and made us omelets. (I must say, Ryan has become quite the breakfast king in our house. Monday's dish was another delicious and perfect way to start off the morning.) Then Ryan told me he was sending me off to the day spa for a few hours. He dropped me off and I got a very relaxing massage and fabulous facial. Little did I know, while I was off getting pampered, Ryan was home cooking up another little surprise. I have been trying to finish decorating the bedroom before we focus all of our energy on the nursery. So Ryan thought he'd help make things nice and fancy in the room by having crown molding put up. (I thought it was sweet because he was excited to help me out with my whole nesting kick I'm on right now.) Anyway, I was quite surprised and it looks great! Then later that evening Ryan and I went to a nice dinner, got some ice cream and came home to watch a movie. Oh yah, and he gave me a very cute watch too. He was very excited to give me this gift as well. He said, "I think this is the coolest women's watch I have ever seen! I had to get it for you." Lol, what a cutie pie! As always, he did a great job at making me feel like a birthday princess on my special day!

Also, thanks to all my family and friends who helped to make my birthday special!!
