Cade Update!!

Cade is 7 months and 2 days old!! It seems like just yesterday he was an itty bitty little guy, but today he is definitely a chunky monkey, big baby boy! Every single day he is learning something new, discovering something new, and giving us one more reason to think he is the cutest kid in the whole entire world! Check out what he’s been up to…

Lately Cade LOVES to play and roll around on the ground. He hasn’t quite mastered crawling, but if he sees a toy he wants from across the room, you can bet he will scoot those little buns straight to it … and fast! We think he’s just on the verge of really crawling and have a feeling he’s going to be ALL over the place very soon!

We recently bought Cade a walker and like all of his toys, he loves it. I often put him in it while I’m cooking or working in the kitchen. He will literally run laps around the kitchen, normally chasing Bella. Obviously a walker makes a baby mobile, but we didn’t quite expect what a leap in mobility and overall ability he would have to get into anything and EVERYTHING! Due to Cade’s recent activity, the garbage can is now kept in the pantry, the drapes are pulled back during the day, and Bella is always on the run.

With all of Cade’s playing and moving around, he’s bound to get tired. Normally he naps when given a bottle or when driving around town, but lately, he is falling asleep all of a sudden and in very random places. Today I was cleaning the kitchen while Cade was playing in his high chair. One minute he was wide awake, then the next thing I know I look over and he was just ZONKED out! It was the cutest thing ever!

Cade is eating baby food!! To get him ready we started with rice cereal around 5 months, then at 6 months we moved up to baby food. We weren’t sure if he’d like it or how’d he respond to it, especially since his first meal was green peas. But surprise surprise, Cade EATS like a champion!!

Cade was so ready for real food, he reached for the spoon...

... then shoved it in his mouth!

He eventually got the hang of it and let us feed him....

... and loved it!

We started feeding Cade in a little baby seat, but just got him a high chair, which he loves to sit in. Just like sitting on daddy’s shoulders, I think he enjoys being high up and getting a full view of what mommy has going on in the kitchen.

Besides loving food, Cade loves water and loves straws!

Cade is always making faces that crack us up every day!!

And like always, Cade is smiling all day long, just the happiest baby boy you've ever seen!!
