3 Month Giggle

So we finally figured out how to upload videos online. Here's our first one, enjoy!

This is Cade at about 3 months old laughing his cute little head off...

So I posted a big update post a few weeks ago. The post shows up on my end, but apparently no one else can view it, which is frustrating. So here it goes, a re-do, super update post to fill everyone in on the last few weeks..

Our little baby boy is 4 months old!! It’s hard to believe he’s growing up so fast, but it’s definitely a reality check when we see just how big he is getting. For weeks everyone has been telling us, “Wow, he is just so solid!” We don’t really notice just how big he’s gotten since we see and hold him every single day, but we went in for his 4 month appointment this week and confirmed what a growing boy he is. Cade measured in at 17lbs, 26 inches. His weight is in the 90th percentile and his height is in the 96th percentile. He is right on track with all of development and looks awesome.

An exciting update for the whole family is that Cade is sleeping in his own room now! He has been in the nursery for the past two weeks. I have to admit, I totally felt separation anxiety the first night, but now I love having our room back. Ryan put a surveillance camera up above his crib, which we have hooked up to our bedroom TV, so we can keep an eye on and hear him all night. He still occasionally has nights where he wakes up once, but for the most part we put him down around 9pm and he sleeps straight through the night until 6am-ish. At that time we give him a bottle and he falls right back to sleep until 9am-ish. He is definitely a good sleeper!

Our sweet baby sleeps like a champ!

Cade is much more aware of his surrondings now. Before we would really have to try to get his attention in order to get him to watch or follow us with his eyes. Now he completely watches and follows every move we make, even if it is behind him and he has to bend his head back to see us. He interacts, plays, and smiles ALL day long, which is so fun for us!

Mr. Personality

Cade is a happy boy almost the entire day, but it is obvious one of his favorite times is when Ryan gets home from work. Cade loves playing with is daddy!

(Did I mention he is at the stage where he puts everything in his mouth? Even if its a nose...)

Always laughing!

In addition to putting everything in his mouth, Cade is starting to interact with toys. Before he would just stare at or swat at toys and mobiles, but now he is starting to figure out how toys move and work. Recently we've been putting him in his bouncer and not only does he use his little feet to bounce around, he's been spinning his little froggy toy around and around and moving the circle toys up and down (see below). He has to really focus to get everything moving, but he surely does it!

There Cade goes moving the yellow toy up and down!

After five years together, Ryan and I finally went camping together. The fun part was that we got to take Cade along for our first adventure. We went up just north of Payson to Bear Flats for an over-nighter with friends. Sadly, my camera died just after we took our first two pictures. If you know me you know how much I love to take pictures and seriously wanted to cry over the fact that I couldn't capture the whole trip, but pictures or not, it was great trip. We were a little apprehensive about taking Cade and wondered how he'd sleep in the outdoor conditions, but like always, he slept like a champ, 9 hours straight. We had a lot of fun and look forward to tons more camping to come!

Besides camping, we recently took our first official road trip with Cade. My brother got married in Las Vegas last month, so we made the trip to see him walk down the aisle.

Cade's first pool experience...

We also got to hangout with Brent (Ryan's brother) in Vegas and meet his girlfriend Jessica, who is now his lovely fiance. Congrats you two!

Ofcourse we've had lots of bath time....

Nice and dry

Another fun event was that my mom, Cade's Grandma Carrie, got to come and visit for a week recently. My mom had so much fun bonding with Cade and I think Cade really enjoyed it too!

Now that I feel comfortable leaving the house on a whim and handling a newborn like a pro, I've got to hangout with my girlfriends and all their cute kiddos alot more.

Cade's first official play date!

Hanging out with Cassie and Camryn

Since I'm always the one taking pictures of Cade, I feel like I don't get nearly enough pictures with him, so lately I've been sneaking in private photo sessions with my handsome little baby!

I could kiss this little guy all day long!

Cade tends to give the shocked look alot when he sees the camera. The funny thing is, thats totally something Ryan does to be funny.

I was laying on the ground with Cade and the whole time he had his little arm on my shoulder, so ofcourse I just had to grab the camera! Too cute!

So things are going great for the Landes crew. Cade is 14 ½ weeks and just an awesome baby. We feel so so lucky to be his parents. He gets fussy at times when he’s hungry or wants some attention, but overall he is a totally chill dude. He is definitely more aware of his surroundings now and loves laughing with his dad. He smiled, giggled, and coo-ed from a pretty young age, but now he is full out laughing his head off and we love it! We will do whatever funny/silly things we can to hear that boy laugh. Also, he is sleeping pretty well. On average, he sleeps 7 hours straight, wakes up for a bottle and then goes back to sleep for a few more hours. We took our first camping trip last week and through all the commotion he slept 9 hours straight, so we were definitely delightfully surprised. He takes one big nap a day in his swing and then a few cat naps here and there throughout the rest of the day. He eats great and is getting close to holding his bottle I think, which I can’t wait for. All in all, things are going smooth for our new little family. We went to Vegas last week for my brother’s wedding and have a big Seattle trip coming up. It is fun to be able to do these things together and especially exciting to have such a darn cute little man making everything that much more special!!

In Vegas for the wedding and Cade's first time in a pool.

Chilling with dad

Cade was a little unsure about the water, but he didn't not like it, so we considered that a success! One thing was for sure, even with all the commotion of Vegas, Cade was definitely the main attraction of the pool that day. Everyone was going crazy over him... can you blame them?!

Totally tuckered out after his pool debut.

Cade is starting to interact with toys and mobiles. His favorite thing is his crib mobile.
Grandma Carrie got him this great jungle themed mobile with animals and leaves that move up and down and in circles, it is really cool . He totally mesmerized and it will seriously keep him entertained forever!!

The Bumbo Saga!

I put Cade in his bumbo for the first time recently. He did not know what to do about
the new sense of balance and freedom to sit on his own...

He got a little scared...

Decided he didn't like it...

Then finally got comfortable in it and decided maybe he did like it afterall!

Just another Sunday, time for church, posing like a model! :)

Bath time!!
